<$1200 5.1 setup, need some advice

After searching around a bit, I'm leaning towards either the SBS-01, or the Onix x-cs for the main/center, and the x-ls for the surrounds, both with the SVS PB12-NSD sub. Anyone has any thoughts on either one? I'm not exactly very well-versed as far as home audio goes, so any advice/recommendation is greatly appreciated :)

the room that I'm going to put the system in is in the basement, about 13x16 for the HT system. The room extends further out back another 10' or so, which means if I want to wall-mount the surrounds, it's probably gonna hang from the ceiling. Is that a good idea, or should I just op for speaker stands for the surrounds? From what I've heard, it's not very easy to mount the x-cs/ls on the wall either.

now for the speaker itself, most of the reviews I've seen for the x-ls speakers seems to concentrate mostly on its music performance, and says little about movies. while many of the sbs-01 reviews tends to be about its performance in movies. Should I take that as an indication for what each of the speaker is more geared for?

really open for recommendations here :D

If you will, just check out the forum on AV123's site. There are plenty of people there that are using the X-LS and the X-CS for their HT systems. In "The x Product Group" section, there are some new discussions about plugging the ports of the X-LS with something and then wall mounting them. I myself am interested in that topic as well. I am trying to save up the money to buy a 7 piece X system now.

As far as the SVS speakers, there was a group of people trying to get together back around Labor Day, in California, and they were going to compare the X series and the SVS offering directly. I don't know what happened with the comparo. Again, I was interested, but I may have missed it or it may not have happened.

PB12-NSD will cost you about $650 shipped (unless you are planning on used one) and will leave only about 550 for other speakers. You may like to consider PB10NSD in stead, which will be about $450 shipped. IMO, for a room of your size PB10NSD should also be fine.
