42" plasmas usually have a native resolution of 1024x768. Set your PC to output that resolution. You desktop will look stretched, but clear nonetheless.

1366 x 768 Resolution for PC....(the dreaded question)?
I have a 42" Samsung plasma.
Native Resolution: 1366 x 768
My goal: To display content from my computer that is pixel to pixel clear, and not blurred or distorted.
My hardware that's been tested: Nvidia 6800OC, ATI Radeon 9550.
I have tested both of these video cards using VGA, and also DVI > HDMI Cable. I have messed around with the advanced settings in both ATI and Nvida's control panels. I have also downloaded Powerstrip.
I hope this can be acomplished, really started to have a sour day here....

Yes, I did disply it in 1024x768 and it was infact clear, but stretched. Seems like 1366x768 would be clear, and widescreen lol.

Can anyone confirm what the native resolution is? I don't know how much I trust information gathered on tv specs anymore lol~

The native resolution is 1024x768. The image is stretched because the pixels are rectangular instead of square.
I Changed it back to 1024x768 again after your post, and its not fitting right at all, and distorted. I think it was clear on VGA 1024x768? right now im using DVI>hdmi to get the bad picture on 1024x768
You might have to put the display in "PC mode", "Just Scan", or something like that. Otherwise, the TV will try to scale the incoming signal.
It should definitely be clear over VGA.

This is one of the reasons I'm not too thrilled at the non 1080p 42" screens.
