I like your choice of the Sony HS51. I saw it at CEDIA and it looked like a major step up from my HS10. I don't know anything about the amplification you're using, but assume its pretty good stuff for the price you're paying. My suggestion would be to upgrade the DVD player to one with superior sound quality. You're system will only sound as good as the source.
I have a Cary Cinema DVD 6 which sounds great with music and movies, but got a great deal. If I had it to buy retail, I'd probably go with one of the new Denon universal players with video uprezzing like the 3910. Just a suggestion.

Yes, but he'll be using the digital outputs from the player (which will be fine). The video quality of this unit (when using DVI) is good. One thing to check would be if you can use the digital output of the Momitsu for streaming audio (or does it force you to use the low quality analog outputs).
If the dj'ing is going to be in your home, then the speakers will be great. If you plan on doing gigs in larger venues (>7k cu.ft) then you may want to consider larger horn-based pro audio designs.
