Do I have somehting to worry about here?

Since the new DVA 2.0a version has been out.

I have been getting 150K+ GOP errors. Which

womble is happily fixing. This maybe concidenital.

Or an effect of time slipping of DVA. DUN'T KNOW!

The only side effect is a sometimes audio sync slippage

occuring in the rendered video. This is in the milsecond

range. Possible 1 or 2 frames worth.

So the question is. How many GOP errors do --> YOU

My wife and I use QVision to download shows from our two 5000 boxes. Most of these have been recorded at medium. We normally get many hundreds of thousands of PTS errors fixed during a GOP fixing session. We then burn DVDs with neoDVDplus. In fact, I just finished putting the last 10 episodes of Farscape on 5 DVDs after Wombleing out the commercials. :D

Bye.

I don't use womble, but I expect this is a report of how many GOPs womble fixed, not how many were actually broken. The only breakage I've seen in ReplayTV GOPs is when the counter gets reset (channel change, faded signal, encoder snafu, etc). If this happens towards the beginning, you can easily end up repairing all but one or two GOPs. At 2 GOPs/frame, 30 frames/sec, 3600 sec/hour, that's 216000 GOPs per hour. So, to answer your question, that's probably not a problem.

My Replay 4160 has been giving me mpeg's with 150,000+ PTS errors per hour of program from day one. Womble fixes 'em and I edit and burn to DVD with no problem.
