Looking for a very good soundbar to fit my small living room. Came across this 1500-Watt Audiophile 5.1 Speaker Bar Home Theater System exclusively sold by dell. Right now it's on sale.

I would really appreciate if any of you could chime in about how good this system is?.

Thanks in advance.

Can't comment because there are no specs listed. Actually, that is a comment. No specs=Big Red Flag.

Sensitivity is measured at 1 meter. It's an industry standard. Why does Pinnacle measure it at half that, which produces an inflated figure of double the power? I'll give you 3 guesses.

A low frequency response of only 100 Hz for a Left Right Center combo? Surrounds should go down to 70-80 Hz, so what does that tell us?

The Bic specs are just an example. Compare the Klipsch G42 soundbar http://www.klipsch.com/gallery-g-42-soundbar , or any other brand you find.

My budget is around $600. Normally its for movies but occasionally my wife wants to play FM radio as well. My living room is kind of small 25 x 12 with two opening on one wall (leading to the dining room and the kitchen).

Thanks for any help.

I have to say I'm partial to the surround field produced by the Yamaha YSP's after hearing several brands. The YSP 2200 has it's own subwoofer, the latest audio codecs and switches (3d) hdmi 1.4 and sounds quite good. The sub it comes with is decent for htib fare. It can be had for $800 at dealers and usually there's new but open box one's on Amazon for a couple hundred less.

I would consider JVC's if you have to spend less.

Every time I see the words "Audiophile" and "Speaker" right next to eachother I think of this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_v...afety_concerns

I've actually seen these guys 2 times, once in Sacramento and once in Chicago. When I worked at a HT company up in Sacramento I had at least 4 or 5 calls about replacement parts...It's no fun to tell people they were scammed.

Yeah, I've also been approached a few times, but that has nothing to do with this thread, or the OPs request for info.

Few years ago, I bought pinnacle P5.5 center channel speaker, it's a Platinum Performance Series, retails prices was around $700. But about a year later same speaker drop around 1/3 of the price. Wait if you can.

I have no complaint; the sound was very good, better than I thought (IMO)

Much better than PL26 Center.

The P5.5 has same configuration Premier Acoustic PA-4.4 speakers, but sound better.

But for $700, there are a lot of better speaker.

Well it's because the Pinnacle has a realistic sensitivity spec and uses half the distance because [email protected] looks bad. Bic lists 96db as their sensitivity which is likely true at one particular frequency (when their horn loaded tweets are making your ears bleed) and not averaged across the entire spectrum. I would "bet the farm" its sensitivity
