ATSC receiver sales were reported in Mark Schubin's Monday Memo of August 6 at http://www.digitaltelevision.com/mondaymemo/mlist/ . These are the first numbers I have seen for many months. The article says:

"According to Todd Thibodeaux of the Consumer Electronics

Association (CEA), from the beginning of U.S. DTV through June 30 of this year, 150,003 Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) DTV receiver/decoders, including both set-top boxes and integrated receiver/displays, have been sold into the retail channel".

These are sales to dealers, not to consumers, but if you assume a two-month inventory in the retail pipeline, there will be perhaps 150K units in people's hands by the end of August. This is still less than 10% of the number of HDTV-ready displays, but a large increase over the last numbers I have seen.
