16:9 Enhanced mode on Sony 32FS120 - How do you use it?

654 Views 3 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  litzdog911
I just got this set, and there is a 16:9 enhanced mode option in the menu. The problem is when I select that mode, my DVD movies that already have the black bars top and bottom become shrunk to 1/2 the size and the bars on the top and bottom become 2x as big.

Is there a setting on my DVD player I need to set to get this to work? It seems silly to have an enhanced feature that makes watching movies soo small.

Thanks

Go into your DVD player settings and set it to 16:9 aspect ,this will make the screen look "stretched" but once the tv's 16:9 enhanced option is enabled it will look proper.

I have a similar Sony set. Set the TV to "16:9 Enhanced Automatic" in the setup. There should also be a setting in your DVD unit where you designate what the aspect ratio your TV is. Select 16:9.
I'm pretty sure that you also must use the TV's component or HDMI video inputs for the 16:9 enhanced mode to function properly.
