Hi,

Could someone please list the current selection of

home theater projectors in the 16x9 format that cost

less than or about $2,000?

These would be new projectors and modern units that could

be purchased with a warranty.

For example

1). Sanyo PLV-Z1

2). Studio Experience Matinee 1HD

3). ??

4). ??

Thanks

Any 16:9 DLPs below 2.5K$ ? I've been out of the loop for so long. Wondering whether the time is ripe to move (up) from NEC 150 ? I miss the DVI input ...

Not even close. Lowest would be just under $5K. That would be for a Sharp 9000 (soon to be discontinued) purchased from overseas w/out DVI input or US Warranty.

The Infocus LS110 can be had around $3000(referbished) to $3500.

It has a dual mode panel that will do 4:3 and 16:9(at native DVD resolution)

Hrm. I don't consider a 848x600 chip to be 16:9. For sure it's better than 800x600, but you're still losing lumens and gaining light spill when you go to 848x480. We might as well start calling XGA chips 16:9.

I've heard of people getting them from about $5500 in the US and then a $1k rebate to get it down to $4500. However, it sounds like the HT1000 will beat it for image quality and for less money, according to some people who have seen both on the >$5k forum. Obviously, the HT1000 isn't 16x9, though.

Thanks for the replies. Then may be I should just relax till something comes up. I'd think anything other than a 16:9 with DVI input not worth upgrading from LT150.
