17" LCD Monitor vs 17" LCD TV

Hi, I would like to know if picture quality of a 17" LCD Monitor would be better than a 17" LCD TV.

I would like to share the monitor with PC and Xbox 360. Some people believe computer monitors are too sharp, and LCD TV´s are better to play next-gen consoles. Is this true ?

Usaully you will get higher rez from a monitor over a TV. Just an example, a typical 4:3 17" LCD monitor would have at least 1024x768 rez while most 17" 4:3 LCD TVs have a rez about 852/640x480 or at best if 16:9 widescreen at 1280x720. So yes 17" monitor would have better rez then most 17" LCD TVs. But as far as the 360 goes its all what you would accept. If you can find a 17" WS 16:9 1280x720 LCD TV then that would work the best for the 360.
If you are going to use it for watching TV or DVDs, then at least try to get 19" or else you have to be too close to the screen to see details.
