Hello. I am trying to upgrade my Onkyon HTS 770 HTIB. I am interested in Floor Standing Speakers in the front to match a center channel that is 18 inches or less. Budget for fronts + center is $800 to $1000.

This afternoon I bought the Klipsch Synergy III C1 with a gift card web price was about 148+ tax and I used the $75 card so I paid about $100. It is definitely clearer than the Onkyo stock center speaker.

However, I did not want to spend $370 each (especially today) to get the Klipsch F3 which they carried. I didn't see the F1 which I guess would match better.

I see Klipsch gets some knocks here and has some fans.

I would appreciate any recommendations. I would return the Klipsch if I could find a better option for the fronts and center. The center needs to be 18 inches or less fit in the stand. The C1 was the only practical one that fit that description there today.

I am willing to buy online direct or used as well.

Also do you think it's ok for now to keep this Onkyo RT520 amp, at this point?

This is for an average size living room. Wood floors, glass on a door to a vestibule which shakes as it is during loud scenes with my Onkyo speakers on the floor.

Thanks.

I kept the Klpsch C1 and wound up getting the F1s to match.
