Glad I found this forum.

I'm expecting the TV in a week from ABT (local) for $700 delivered. My last TV was a 40" Mitsubishi CRT monster. Yes, I'm a dinosaur.

Being new to this I'm wondering what to do for burn-in. Would it be okay to leave it on a movie channel, full screen for a couple of weeks?

Should the it be calibrated before burn-in?

Any opinion on getting an extended warranty from a company like Square Trade? I'm leaning against this.

Also a link to calibration settings would be appreciated.

This is a great forum. A lot has changed in 20 years. A bit of a head spinner for me, actually. I just want to enjoy my TV.

Thanks.

OK just a littel correction its break in not burn in

Check the Official S60 owners thread as other owners are probably posting their settings

Leaving it on full scrren movie channel is fine, doesnt need to be for a few weeks, usually the recommended time is 1-200 hours, leaving it on for that time straight through is OK and will not hurt the TV....

For extended warranty thsoe are fine if it makes you feel safer, some people dont get them some people do, its a personal choice.....
