PhysX who? Nice to see there are definite gains with multi-core game development. Hopefully there will be better tools in the future for devs to use to make it easier on them.

First quad core game not to require quad core: Alan Wake


Game does look hot as well as assasins creed... I also think Alan Wake has just put Intel Quads on a lot of peoples must get list, but that's still probably a year away for most budgets, if not more. We need AMD to match them to get the prices back in line again.

That was an amazing demo. The geographic modelling is stunning.


I wonder which Windows OS build it was running on. What will Vista bring to the gaming experience?


It will be interesting to see what kind of hardware Alan Wake will require. Perhaps a PhysX card will still improve performance. Core architecture and coprocessing hardware don't have to be mutually exclusive...


In addition to the AMD & Intel competition, it's good to see software competition, too. It's about time the spotlight has been shifted from Id and Valve :)

I'm looking forward to a PC upgrade in the middle of next year. Before it was all about dual-SLI and dual-core CPUs, and now it's all about quad-SLI and quad-core CPUs.


I won't be satisfied until games are developed around eight GPUs and CPUs with eight cores. :D
