I've recently seen some people creating DVD images (not rips) that are around 2.2GB's. I assume these a full movie titles - I'm wondering how they're taking DVD images which are normally 4.7GB and making them 2.2GB? Are they re-encoding the MPEG-2 to a lower quality? Or maybe just removing unnecessary features like extras, etc..?

Any ideas? Thanks!

DVD Shrink.

Yes, they re-encode at lower bitrate (lower quality).

Removing anything but the movie itself is an option.

it's amazing how much you can shrink'em down with DVDShrink/NeroRecode before you can REALLY see the difference, unless side-by-side...
