Is 2.8 available through ethernet here in the U.S. and if it is then what does this update do?

Was a Japanese firmware hookup in order? That's the only place it's been released yet to my knowledge, but you're menu's aren't in Japanese, so you've got us stumped man. Congrats. Now log back on here and share the source!!!

2.8 is only available from a Japanese site for the XA2.

If it is on its way to the rest of us, it surely shows how dedicated Toshiba is to those of us who have supported HD DVD. I will certainly continue to support Toshiba.
