I have been happily running 4 replays now for a long time (probably since my account creation here) and have had no serious problems, that I couldn't handle.

Now, I find that I am unable to remotely access 2 units. I have rebooted each device, rebooted the router, and nothing. Weird thing is, it works through DVArchive, albeit very slowly. It seems like there is significant latency in the network, which causes Replay to give up, but DVArchive is more persistent. Weird thing is, nothing has been significantly changed to the network (1 new computer on wifi) Also, 3 of the replays are on the same switch, and only 1 of the troublesome units is on that switch. The other is behind 2 switches.

Am I missing anything obvious? Or should I be worried? At least 1 of the units works fine on the other end, recording, and streaming. The other one is headless, and I haven't hooked up a TV to test it yet. I can still tell the units to record shows.

Thanks in advance.

Hook a PC or laptop up to the ethernet cable used by one of the problematic replays. Then try to download a big file from the net (or just run a speed test) and see if that connection is having a problem. If there's no prob, you've probably got an IP address problem (DHCP, static conflict, etc.)

ReplayTV boxes are rather delicate network devices. I have experienced one or more (we have five) boxes have networking problems with a particular data switch box or router that works OK with PCs. I have replaced a data switch and router to keep our ReplayTV boxes happy. Luckily, Fry's is only a block away.

Bye.

That's the weird part, cause it's the same network hardware that I've used for the past 2 years. And 3 are on the same switch, and 2 work fine. I tried pinging them, and they all came back
