Looking at getting either a 51S500 or 57S500 (first choice)

Getting it into my apartment might be a bit tricky, as there are 2 90 degree turns right near the door to get into my place. Would it be a bad idea to split the cabinet on either of these? The 51 might go no problem in one piece, but the 57 might not make it. I want to go as big as possible.

I am going to measure it up and see if it will work, best as I can, but am concerned about splitting the case.

Any input?

thanks

ah, double checked the specs, and right you are.

Is there any down side to splitting the cabinet, even though it is designed to be?

thanks

Splitting the cabinet is annoying, if easy.

The biggest issues are:

gently handling the top part to avoid cracking something

unplugging the internal cable... for some godawful reason they put the plug to be unplugged after a bunch of (capacitor/transitor/thingies on two wires) on the board, so that plug the latch, you have to be real careful not to snap one off.
