I couldn't think of anyone else to ask so I hope it is OK for me to post here.

I have 2 monaural sources (scanners) that I want to hook up to a pre-wired set of stereo speakers, sending one scanner to the left channel and the other scanner to the right channel. The scanners have 3.5 mm mini-plugs and the stereo speakers have a single 3.5mm stereo jack. I have found the adapters to hook this up but I don't want to blow anything up! I assume that by doing this I will be connecting the grounds of the scanners together but I only use them on battery power.

Am I totally nuts? Any guidance is appreciated. Thanks,

Ken

Seems possible but the outputs may floating and not ground referenced. I suggest you try the auto audio forum.
