Hi there. I have a denon AVC x6500 and I am using 2 small cambridge Minx 201 subwoofers.
The one sub i can have with the subs volume turned up, the other I have to have on low or it gets badly distorted.

I have certain basic settings correct i beleive and same on both.
Phase - 0. Crossover - 80.
Within denon I have made most of the settings correct from what I have read.
To test if it was a cable I swapped the subs around and still the same.

I am not greatly AVtech savvy. Can anyone please advise?
Or is the one just probably damaged??

Try just eliminating the distorted sub for now.. How does that sound?..is the low end enough? If it is , run it as a single for now and start weighing options in matching the good sub with another or upgrading...

Crossovers on the subs should be disabled or set to max. Max should be somewhere up around 120-150Hz.

What happens if you swap subwoofer positions? Does the distortion follow the subwoofer or the location?

How long have you had the distorted sounding sub woofer ? Just so you know, the amp warranty is 3yrs, and the speakers is 5yrs.Try swapping in the amp from the good subwoofer so you can narrow it down to the amp or speakers. If you just recently purchased them hold off swapping the amp if you might be able to return it to place you bought it from a replacement or refund.

not sure about the UK warranty on these Minx 201. I am not sure how long the prob has been as it was ultra low volume (prob wife tbf) and I just happen to be "messing" around with them yesterday and it came to light then.
Sounds like there's something wrong with the sub.
