That plane or blimp hum is very annoying.

I know FOX likes to use alot of mic's but it's so loud in the background it almost better if they turned some of them off.

As someone else said the background noise gets louder after the pitch is thrown like someone is turning a mic up.

You sure got that right, that noise is considerably loud and annoying. Makes me want to disable tv audio and listen to the game being broadcast on radio.

From sources that know, the cameras used by FOX for this series are using triax, which is copper based camera cable. The particular triax at Fenway is old and not in the best of shape. The result is electrical interference in the picture from some cameras.

I'm watching WUPW Toledo on Buckeye Cable, and it doesn't even look like the broadcast is in HD because they're using the diamond-cam so much! There's also a lot of fuzz when they cut to a closeup of the pitcher. I caught the last few minutes of the Cards-Astros game on the same station and it had excellent PQ all round. (For better or worse, I can't see what it looks like in SD on D* because my TiVo is taping two different Richard Gere movies, go figure :)

Looks great here in Orlando on Bright House Networks. Yeah the blimp sucks.

Sometimes my received will not say "Digital", it will goto PLII if I switch channels and come back. If I cycle the power on the recevier THEN it recognizes the DD 5.1. Anyone else experience this?

For whatever its worth, and I understand everyone will have their own opinion on it, but the blimp noise is kinda cool to me as I was at the "whos your daddy" game in NY and the blimp noise you hear is just like what I heard sitting one row from the top of Yankee Stadium. Again, I agree that most will not like it, but to me it makes me feel like I am back at the stadium.

Not buying it. We don't see this with NESN, INHD, or ESPNHD. It's Fox's crappy SD widescreen camera.

Can we tell Fox that there are far to many closeups for HDTV resolution?

At least for their better cameras, long shots and medium shots without so much cutting would yield a better looking production.
