TIME TO GET THIS GOING!!!

Steve and Alex wil host. odd pairing but it may just work.

I think we will see this year how inclusive or exclusive academy voting

is right now.

All kinds of rumored politics, emotions, and personal relations

going on this year.

If you go on past history, I would predict that cameron wins for

best picture, but due to the overly familiar plot line of avatar,

the great reviews of Hurt Locker, and brief marriage between

the 2, bigelow gets best director (that's the insider version).

Not too unlike what happened to speilberg for Saving Private

Ryan, in an unusual precedent, a big time director, whose flick

gets best film award, gets snubbed for best director.

I can live with either Hurt or Avatar for best picture,

but I can't buy into Bastards. I'm a big q.t. fan, but that

movie was way too slow and overly involved to win as

best picture. cheapens the award like shakespeare in love

or crazy (neither of which I would bother setting my dvr

to record currently). If there's that much sentiment for

q.t. give him best director.

Ummm.... I think you have that backwards. Spielberg won for Director, the movie did not....

I stand corrected. I did remeber the '98 awards backwards. and it was that entirely

forgettable shakespeare in love that somehow swindled s.p.r. from best film.

This year, I expect avatar to get best flick, but bigelow to get best director

q.t. may get best director, but I think that would be in recognition for his body of work, not he merits of bastards which left me unimpressed.
