Just tested YouTube and same issue. Any idea how much something like that could cost to fix? I would rather user the native apps, but it is hard to justify spending money on it when Roku work fine.

It’s really not worth it. Considering all the relatively cheap streaming devices available, there is very little reason to use the internal apps that run on an outdated and comparatively slow version of webOS.

This seems serious and likely some memory issue. I would not be surprised other issues turn up up.

I assume you done a full system power down (leaving it unplugged for 5 min) and restarted.

Funny you say that. It reminded me of artifacts I would get when a video card overclock would be stressed to the point of visual anomalies but not crashing the system.

Does the OLED have fans? I wonder if it's a heat issue.

I had unplugged the TV for about a minute, but today I left it unplugged for a few hours. After starting it back up it looks like it may be fixed. I will do a longer session tonight to make sure. Thanks for your help and saving me some money. I am surprised LG support did not tell me to do this.

I would def escalate.

a few weeks ago, I had my 2017 65B7A panel replaced as a one time courtesy panel replacement. My panel had burnt out pixels along the edge of the screen.

This would be my third panel replacement but getting LG to support their product, even in warranty, has been like pulling teeth. They don't want to help you, take forever to respond and when they do, they decline and don't give you the ability to engage in a conversation that's fruitful. I tried twitter, awful support. then I moved to facebook messenger (messaging them from their usa customer support page), and had better service, but still it was rough sailing and my request was declined.

So, I went this link: https://www.lg.com/us/support/email-to-president

I filled out a COMPLAINT and Literally within the day I had a response on facebook messenger and a decision that LG would replace my panel.

Just an update... I contacted LG customer support who told me that they would provide a one time courtesy panel replacement for my burn in. I uploaded all the pictures and receipts and all that.

I just got a call back from them saying that it was out of warranty and that they couldn't do anything. I asked them about the one time courtesy panel replacement, and they said that I bought the tv from ebay (not an official dealer) so they weren't going to do anything for me. I did buy the tv from an ebay listing of the BuyDig store. BuyDig is an official dealer, so what gives?

Ultimately, I'm getting shafted over the same issue others have had resolved. Zero out of five stars from me. :frown:

Thanks for the info. It took a couple of days of back and forth from BuyDig, but they eventually found my order and sent me a BuyDig branded invoice. I called LG Customer Service back and told them that I had the correct receipt now. I basically told them that I would like to start the process over, and they agreed. I got a new case number, and uploaded the pics again along with the new invoice. So, we'll see what they say in a couple of days when they get back with me. If that is unsuccessful, I will use the link you provided to send the president an email.

Well that was quick! I contacted LG via Twitter and they responded this morning. The rep asked for all the info you guys mentioned. I sent it all to her via direct message. I asked her if she needed anything else and she said no and told me my case will be sent to an OLED specialist. Within minutes, lol, I received another message from her telling me that she has authorized the cost of a one time repair as a courtesy and I should hear from a service center shortly. I received a text from LG within minutes stating the name of the service center that accepted the job and that they would reach out to me to set up an appointment time. So now just waiting to hear from the service center. Man, this was the easiest out of warranty claim Ive ever done. Providing I get a new screen and everything go as the rep stated, I am extremely please with LG. Thanks again for the help! I really thought I would have to live with my current screen issues until I hopped back on the forum for suggestions. You guys and gals are the BEST! I will report back with updates.
Wow, one time courtesy repair? I have hope again. I experienced burn in and logged an online support ticket a month ago but have heard nothing since. I loved the set and was devastated when I noticed the burn in (after being careful to use the recommended methods to guard against burn in and annoying the hell out of my family by putting a time limit on programming or games with fixed banners or logos on the screen). I'm old so after figuring out how to Twitter, I'll try it. Fingers crossed. Thanks to everyone who posted this.

Twitter was the easiest and quickest method for me. Good luck. I hope you get a new panel.

Last night received notification that "Pixel Refresher" would run. This A.M. said it was completed. When I checked hours of operation for set it said "5343" - It was my understanding that the PR should auto-run in 2,000 cycles. Does anyone know what it would run at 5343 hours?

Probably the second major cycle. It’s not an exact 2k/4K type of thing.

Mine has never ran at 2000 intervals imo each unit has some internal clock that determines. My last one was 6143.

Interesting p/u TV (10/17) from VE after 300 hour break-in and calibration - average daily use is less than 5 hours - can't remember if it ran @ 4k hours (don't think so - getting old and memory shot) but don't think so. Maybe daily hour use has some effect - really not that important! After nearly 3 years TV is wonderful and not a single problem - very happy camper!!

That was my third major refresh and none were exactly at the 2000 mark, after the first didn't happen at 2000 I never gave it a second thought.

Ive had my C7 now a few years, starting to notice some burn in and banding more. I know its a LONG shot, but what exactly is the processes for trying to get LG to replace the panel? If I try and go through the typical route on their website it tells me my panel is out of warranty (obviously). Are you guys just emailing them? Or having to physically call? Any tips/tricks to help potentially grease the wheels? Any information is always appreciated

My C7 was out of warranty. Had several burn in spots. Thought I was screwed. Came to the forum a few weeks ago and sought the advice of peeps on here like u are. Contact LG via twitter direct message. They responded quickly and asked for pics and proof of purchase. Approved a one time courtesy panel for me and I had a service company out and panel replaced all within 10 days of contacting LG. I was very pleased and lucky.

I'm probably screwed lol
Never had a twitter, never will (not joining that cesspool dumpster fire)
No clue where my receipt is, especially since it was 3+ years ago lol I registered it through their site back when, but good luck actually finding a receipt.

If it was an electronic purchase, you may find it in your email or you may be able to contact the business you purchased it from to see if they still have a copy. As far as contacting them there are multiple ways to do it, social media is just a couple of them.

Later that night the problem was back as soon as I turned on the first show. Strange that the hard reboot fixed it, and then came back again. I feel like this would fit with a memory issue. Hopefully I don't come across other problems as I have been extremely happy with my set up until this point.
