Has anyone successfully been able to calibrate Dolby Vision with autocal? I tried last night and downloaded the file to my usb no problem. I then clicked the button to upload the file directly to the software but when I went to the next screens to check, it was just a black screen with no patterns generated. I did change the mode to “Absolute” as instructed. Am I missing something?
What device you have for pattern generation?

I'm using the VideoForge Pro. I was able to get the Dolby Vision and the right patterns for Greyscale initially when it was set to Relative, it is just the Post Calibration when you are supposed to load the DV file nothing comes back.

Can you open up your DV configuration file in notepad and post it’s contents here?

Hey Tyler. I don't know if this is related or not but I just went in and tried to Auto Cal my HDR (only did SDR and DV last night) and everything was running good until the 15% square came up and it the background all of a sudden was blue which of course dramatically skewed the readings. Ended up turning all picture to a blue tint...have you seen this before?? I attached the pictures for reference.

I think because ABL start working over 150Nits SDR.
That's only true for full-screen - using 10% windows you can get waaay above 150 Nits.

I believe the instability that D-Nice and others are referring to is assiciated with output and color drift as the panel (or the portion of the manel being measured) heats up (or cools down)...

100/120Nits should be used in night mode in a dark room obviously for cinema contents as the mastering post production does, also home cinema enthusiast use this as target reference.

In my case with my B6 eecolor combo I'm using 130Nits ;)[/QUOTE]

I still rely on streaming apps in my 65C6P, so eecolor isn't an option for me.

Once I get a UHD Bluray player with streaming apps, an external LUT could be an option, but sn't the 4K eecolor LUT pretty pricey?

I think you have a pattern delay issue. Black measured 148nits in your config file.

What is your pattern delay set to?

I used the same setting as was recommended for HDR, so I guess it was 5 seconds? I believe it was 5 sec, 5 sec and 15%

These are not the Patteen Delay values these are the values for Pattern Inseration.

You find this setting under the pattern section try to use 0,75-1,00 sec pattern delay.

There’s no 4K eeColor box, only 1080p. At least for what I know.

Currently, the only 4K-capable standalone LUT box for home theater is the Lumagen Radiance Pro video processor.

Tyler,

are there any walkthrough videos out/planned which guide new users (like me) throught the LG Autocal workflows? I think as Calman starts to embrace end users (like me), this could be mandatory. Especially, the approach by which HDR10/DV is calibrated is still not very clear to me, although I am trying to get into it by reading forum posts.

Thanks, Robert

Great thanks! This seemed to work as it loads properly. Could this also be the reason why the hdr readings were off?! I noticed that when it initially reads 0% the blue is super high which then causes the 15% and below slides have the background as bright blue instead of grayish dark, thus causing the readings to be way off. And also creating an entire blue tint to the picture. I’ve made sure all settings are accurate so not sure what would be causing this.

Which meter are you using?

Hmm, sometimes, Autocal algorithms seem to diverge somewhat, here are two examples, one with distorted gamma near 100%, one with totally distorted grayscale. note that for the second example Autocal „Rolling“ already went through 50-65%.

You have to provide some more info about about your used settings.

- Meter Settings
- Pattern Settings
- which AutoCal formula did you used?
