Pre ordered the M55 G1 since the P is no longer available in 55". Just needed a replacement TV for a 2008 Sharp Aquos. I pick it up on Sunday and will have it calibrated on 6/10. Will post initial thoughts and impressions on Sunday.
Waiting for the 43” M to be released. Wanting to compare it to the 43” V with local dimming. The only differences I can tell are a couple more dimming zones, quantum color, 360 clear action (vs. 180 on the V), and 1 more HDMI port. Curious to see if that hundred dollar difference is worth it. Anybody have any info on when the 43” will be released?
Don't bother using Vizios for anything but their PQ/dollar value. Just add the latest Roku to them and Youtube and most of your needs are reliably taken care of. Add FireTV for any Android apps you need.Does the TV have the app for YouTube TV (not just plain YouTube) pre-loaded? Looking to cut cable this summer, so I'm curious what's built in vs. only works via casting for the 2019 Vizios.

I agree. If TCL made their 6-series in a 40 or 43 inch, I would be taking that route. I do currently have the V435 (non-local dimming) that I bought to test. I am part of the Apple Airplay 2 Beta, and I like the functionality. If you are an Apple user, there’s some promise here. There ARE a few bugs, but it’s still in beta.Don't bother using Vizios for anything but their PQ/dollar value. I’m currently upgrading from a 32 inch Panasonic from 2009. My plan is to use this Vizio for our main display, and move the 32 inch over for my wife to use for her medical transcription; then I’ll wait a year or two to purchase a 65 inch of whatever is the best PQ value at the time, and move the Vizio over to use as the PC monitor.I also am waiting for the 43" M. I am considering using it for my PC monitor. I currently have a 30" 2560x1600 display that it would replace. My older computer with a Nvidia GTX 1070 is fast enough to play Overwatch on my current display, but I am wondering how it would perform on the Vizio. Most likely I would run the Overwatch game at 2560x1440 and I am wondering if that would introduce any lag during the down-res conversion. Most of the rest of the time I would run it at 4K and also try out Ultra HD blu-ray on it via my Xbox One S.

I have the V436 on order. Vizio claims “ultrabright 400“ and 10 zones of local dimming. I plan on doing some testing, and maybe some videos, between the 435 and 436 . But I’m really waiting for the M437 so I can compare the performance between the M and V. The main differences I can find are quantum color, 2 more dimming zones, an extra HDMI port, and Clear Action 360 (vs 180) on the M. I want to find out if it’s worth the extra hundred dollars for me. Those specs are from the 50 inch, as Vizio doesn’t have the 43 listed on their site yet, so I’m only assuming they will be the same for the 43. I’m sure there are other technical differences that are listed, but I don’t know what they are.
That’s RIGHT! I misspoke. I’ve edited to correct my mistake. Thanks!The M437 G1 has 12 dimming zones and 400nits. The M507 G1 has 16.

Agreed. I hate washed out blacks, so the local dimming is a must for me. I’m hoping it’ll be decent on both, despite the small number of zones. I’m not sure how much of a difference the quantum dots will make to me, so I’m eager to check it out. By the way, how are the black levels on your 55”? And is it the M7 or M8 model? No worries I just didn’t want you to be upset if you didn’t know it was less.
Also both the M and the V have 60hz native panels so I don’t know if motion blur will be much different on them really. I think we’ll see a larger reduction in color gamut and processing than anything.

so i tried startign a thread but no one is talking on it... im in market for a new tv for my bedroom and i already am spoiled by my pq65 in my living room and im thinking maybe get a p55 for my room or the new version the m558 g1 but i dunno if the price diff is worth it or what and im looking for experience from ppl who have compaared and or used both or one or the other... thanks guys
So far the M558 is a solid TV. There’s tons of threads about 2018 models so I’d just read up on those. The 2019 are so new that you’re really taking a “gamble” right now. I say gamble because overall I think most TVs in the same range will be interchangeable in quality overall. So far the M558 has been a great bedroom tv even during the day with a window directly across.

Yeah, but what's HiSense's reliability record so far? Even TCL has been known to have a panel lottery on their highest-end sets, so I can only imagine what people can expect from HiSense TVs.Could be, for the same $799 the Hisense H9F is better over the M558 from Vizio.
Hisense is delivering more local dimming zones 132 vs 90 on Vizio, a true native 120Hz Panel not 60Hz like Vizio and a much smoother faster Interface, and the same Quantum Dots.
