Which picture mode are you using? Calibrated? Calibrated dark?
I am using 'Calibrated Dark' mode. Even in this mode I have backlight set to 15. For complete dark room/at night I keep full array to low and for daytime watching I switch it to medium. If calibrated dark mode is too dark for you, increase backlight to between 15 - 25 and should be good. I am feeding power through balanced isolated transformer to provide cleanest power. If you are into it, you can find it at amazon, search 'umi'.

The issue I’ve been having is that I have found that I need to make different adjustments for many of the different things I watch.

I keep it on Calibrated dark but one example is tonight watching hbo I had to change the settings again.

backlight up to 70
FulL Array OFF
This gets me a beautiful image.
Turning Array on to any setting and 50 back light for this show, The Undoing, gets me a blotchy and color banding image.

This is my biggest gripe with the TV so far. I can't find a happy middle ground for content types. I feel like I often have to adjust something specific to the movie, tv show, and sometimes even between episodes of the same tv show.

I tried the standard settings.
Haven’t gone into the white balance and color tune settings.

Just watched a little of The Bachelor on Hulu and it’s awful.
Tried a half dozen different settings and couldn’t get it to look good even a little bit.

The hockey game currently on nhl channel looks pretty good.

I tried above settings and can say that they are not applicable. Picture / color got worse. Got red and green hue intensified on internet page. Video color got little muted. Wasn't bad but not an improvement.

I think Rtings must be using a really bright room. Backlight 50 with Full Array on Med seems way too bright for most situations. I'm using two presets:

For Movies and most viewing: Calibrated Dark, Backlight 30, Full Array Med, Gamma 2.4 (I like the darker, more contrasty look)
For Sports (football and hockey): Calibrated, Backlight 50, Full Array Low, Gamma 2.2

Definitely don't use their Color Tuner and White Balance settings - these will be different for each panel, and the panel they tested had the red tint issue. I think most people who've purchased the set recently do not have that issue.

Has anyone figured out what the Super Resolution setting is?

I activated it to high but now it’s greyed out and I can’t adjust it again.

Can’t figure out what setting allows it to be changed.

I saw it available to tweak when watching OTA content, couldn’t tell a difference so I turned it back off.

Yes, I knew that. Thanks.

I was asking if anyone sees a date for when it was updated.
You can get the date from this support page after entering your serial number.

After 2 damaged Vizio tvs,
the $70 cost delivery each time,
My time and frustration,
having taken the gamble on Vizio
after exhaustive research and warning about vizio,
And the not so trivial amount of money spent:
$1,600 tv
$200 tax
$120 COSTCO membership
$150 3 home to Costco delivery
$350 Vizio atmos sound bar
$220 Nvidia shield pro
$250 cyberpower sine wave ups
$250 Tv desk
2 TV reclining chairs, $350 each w $70 delivery

Hours of setup

Tens of visit to stores and websites

And having today no TV,
Retired after being fired laid off from 20 yrs job at last company,
w nothing to do cause of the virus but binge

Posting :
STAY AWAY FROM VIZIO
I believe is not unreasonable
