My delivery from Best Buy for the 65 inch Qn90A is currently set for 3/11. I'll try to post some very amateur impressions after I run it through some movies and Series X games. Finally replacing my 6 year old UN55ju6500fx. Thank you for starting the owners thread!

I will take delivery of my QN90A 75" tomorrow (3/10/2021). I am off all day and on Thursday, so I will have plenty of time to run it through it's paces. Will post photo's and impressions as quickly as I can. Please note, I do not have any measuring tools to run any analysis software on the TV...so unfortunately I will not be able provide data points on the set.

I'm glad you're finally getting your set, I trust BBY much more than Samsung to deliver when they say they will.

Yeah...that whole mess with Samsung was bad. I was so unsure about things with what I went through, I ended calling Best Buy today to ensure my delivery...then a few hours later their automated system also called to verify the delivery time window...so I am pretty confident I will finally get my set!

Hallo Hawkmoon

Thanks for opening the thread. The Swiss QN90A Samsung website (up to now the most complete specs in Europe) shows Wide Viewing Angle for all sizes up to 85" and Ultra Viewing Angle for 85".
I expect this to be correct and the same for the other European countries.
This is different from the US Samsung website (50"also Wide View Angle as you wrote). Therefore when discussing viewing angle, we have to be careful to specify the size and country.

So i just watched this review. Sounds like viewing form an angle is absolutely awful on this tv and the tv doesnt get very bright trying to produce good black?

What are peoples thoughts that own this. Should i upgrade? I have a q7F 2017 currently with the one connect box

I posted this on the other thread. I don't know how much brighter that guy wants it. This is for the 55 inch I hope samsung adds a backlight control setting. As this TV is too bright for me in HDR and gives me headaches and no I don't watch it in the dark. Movies are fine, but gaming is where I need it. Also the contrast and brightness sliders seem to be only half functional at least according to my clipping test patterns

So I pulled out my i1 display today to calibrate the gray scale. The gray scale at least on my TV is all over the place. Standard is the closest to being right on with warm 2 got a DE of 0.64 after a few adjustments. Movie mode is a terrible mess on the gray scale. these were done with 10% windows

while I had my i1 out I did some CDM2 testing. All these are in standard mode in SDR setting are brightness 38 contrast 50 sharpness 10 color 25 tint 0 with
local dimming and contrast enhancer set to high i get 180 CDM2.
With local dimming standard and contrast enhancer low 130 CDM2
In natural mode which i think is a HDR effect mode with local dimming and contrast enhancer set to high 1250 CDM2

In standard HDR Settings brightness 50 contrast 50 sharpness 10 color 25 tint 0.
local dimming and contrast enhancer set to high 1680 CDM2
local dimming set high and contrast enhancer set to low 1600 CDM2
local dimming set standard and contrast enhancer set to low 1130 CDM2

Edit: I just found the backlight control. It's under general under power and energy savings

So after playing with the power and energy savings settings. It is not a true backlight setting. Its just the best work around till they give us an update to control it from the picture settings. So you can turn on brightness optimization and then adjust the minimum brightness. But is says "this feature only works if its value is lower than the value set in the picture backlight setting." Which I don't see a setting for. The software on this TV doesnt even seem to be in beta yet

Does anybody have a PS5 hooked up to there set? It looks to me like the home screen and some games have much lower APL than on my Q90r, and I'm wondering if it's to do with dynamic tone mapping, or just the way PS5 handles HDR in general.

I have a ps5 hooked up to mine. It seems to depends on what you have your LD and contrast enhancer set to. I would recommend going to the 2nd screen of the PS5 HDR adjust page. Play with those to settings. As you turn up LD pay attention to the adjustment box. When doing contrast enhancer pay attention to the controller. This helps you to notice what each one does
