Table top stand options

As in prior years, a console/table stand will not be included with the G3, only the Flush Fit wall bracket. (US product info page) Customers can buy the optional LG stand appropriate to their choice of size, or a third party stand. (N.b. links are to AVSforum only, not retailers. Follow links to post for further reading.) I have not yet heard if the SC9S soundbar (which can replace a C2, C3 included stand) will also fit to a G3.

YES, the LG product pages (US) list the stand part number under the heading Accessories included, but the line for the wall mount states "Flush Mount included (Stand sold separately)."

I thought that it was AVS policy that you couldn't start an owner's thread until you actually purchased the TV...?
I've never heard of that policy. I and a few others have started the owners' threads in the past for AVRs and other components, usually with oft-needed information at the "head" of the topic as a convenience for new owners and users looking for pre-purchase information. The mods and admins I've talked with were very supportive.

Indeed it is. When I started a Z9 owners thread after stating my intention to purchase they changed it to an "anticipation" thread. And then I had to make another owners thread when it came out.

Seems to be selectively applied at the mods whims.

Well, it only makes sense really...

How can you have an "owner's" thread without any actual owners...?

You won't be even able to buy the TVs for another 3 +/- months...

So you will have an "owner's" thread filling with page after page of postings - without anyone even owning the TV...

It depends upon your viewpoint. IMHO the well managed "owners" threads have useful information in the first post: FAQs, links, update details, specs. Take a look at the Apple TV Owners' Thread, it's a superb example.

Y'know that movie line, "if you build it, they will come?" Trust me, the G3 and C3 owners will show up, as will prospective buyers looking for info and new owner perspective, just as in the 2022 LG C2-G2 Owner's Thread (also started when 2022 models were announced).

Feel free to start "anticipation" and discussion comments about the information LGE has made public about the 2023 models.

Did they give any information at CES on the expected release date for these? I watched several videos from CES but don't remember any of them mentioning when they would be available to purchase.
Usually by end of March/April is when you should start seeing some of these roll out.

Sorry the Samsung S95C and it’s 144hz and FreeSync Premium Pro are a must have for a Gaming person. I just wish it was curved.
That’s plus an 7900 XTX with DisplayPort 2.1 looking forward to a 175hz QD-OLED from MSI 34” should have enough bandwidth since both are DisplayPort 2.1 rated.

I'm liking the 144hz too but in the end software and price will decide it for me. And how mla vs qd is.

I'm very hesitant to Samsung due to (I dont think at least) no burn in warranty on their TV's (lgs is 'unoffical' but kinda do) and then slowly gimping brightness and forced FW updates.

Will be interesting to see how it plays it

I wonder if LG will reverse course and provide a table top stand with the G3 without having to purchase it separately.
I doubt it. Since the Gallery Series is designed and intended for wall-mounting, I can't foresee them NOT including the proprietary wall mount. Including both parts (stand and wall mount), one of which every user will not use, is wasteful IMHO. This cost would likely be passed on to the buyer, which is less than ideal. Offering the stands as an option for those who want it makes sense ... particularly if the SC9S will mount and act as a stand as LG promises it will for C2s and C3s.
See Post #4 for links to suggestions of aftermarket table top stands.

Choices are good. My 83" C2 has two mounting options, including an apparently proprietary set of mounts within the electronics box for an optional LG wall mount.

An included stand would be great. I’m sure many want the G3 but don’t have the ability or desire to mount it for various reasons, but are willing to pay extra for the TV instead of the C3 since it has higher brightness. Whether a stand is included or not, I just hope it won’t cause the TV to tilt back and won’t be wobbly.
