I recently bought a 20AF44 and it is pretty good, except for two problems:

VSM seems to be on all the time by default. It's liveable, but I would like to try to get it turned off, since it makes text and white details a bit red or green-edged.

Red push seems to be a bit high.

I looked in the service menu and didn't really find any options to correct either. Anyone have any suggested service menu numbers, or any ideas how to correct these?

There's only two options on this set, DVD and DTV. DVD is the default, which is "movie mode".

I just played Star Wars and it looks horrible on this TV thanks to the edge enhancement and all the thin white areas coming in as a mix of pink and green.

Ok, I opened up the back and did some exploring. I found the chip at the back of the tube had some things labeled SVM on it. On one side were 3 power supply wires, and on the other, where the SVM stuff is labeled, there was a single 3 wire power supply. I disconnected it, and it seems that SVM/VMS is turned off.

I did notice a brownish/orange wire with the red, yellow and blue ones...is this the orange one mentioned?

Anyone have any more info regarding the orange wire?
