Or maybe an ultrawide with a less aggressive curve?
How does it work, does a higher value - 1800R, 2300R, 3000R, 4000R - mean a more curved screen?
Other way around. The lower the number the more pronounced the curve is on the display.

My current monitor is 1800R and while I do not like curved TVs, it is great on a monitor due to my seating distance as it is mounted on my desk.

A curved monitor will not distort the edges by itself but too high of a fov will absolutely distort the edges of any display. What games are doing this and what is your fov set to? What monitor do you have?

I have a Z35p and I will never go back to a flat ultrawide monitor. I do not have distortion of anything anywhere on my panel so I am willing to bet your fov is simply too high. Let me know if this was your issue.

I never thought about that
The game was Metro Exodus (now completed and uninstalled)
My TV is the older curved LG OLED
I've had it for three years and never saw anything distorted at the edges
I'll pay attention to it on the monitor now
