I currently have the samsung px2370 but i am going to return it to amazon later today. The price is just too much for the quality of the monitor. I was thinking about getting a cheaper asus either http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-VS247H-P-...3999259&sr=8-1 or http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-VH238H-23...3999333&sr=1-2 . I was also thinking maybe a tv instead because the main use of this purchase is for xbox 360 gaming street fighter/ marvel and call of duty. I will be using it as a monitor as well for my laptop just to play league of legends or hon. I want a monitor because the input lag is low on all 3 of those but I am not sure what it is on this tv http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-UN22D5...3999525&sr=1-3 . So for what I am using it for which would be the better option a monitor or a that tv if the input lag is not noticeable which I am assuming because its only 22 inch.

I've owned (3) Samsung 23" LCD/CCFL monitors, (2) of which had built in HDTV tuners (2333HD, B2330H, B2330HD) and found them be excellent.
However, I recently switched to the new Samsung UN22D5000 HDTV that you're considering, because.......
1. Wanted the advantages/benefits of an LCD/LED unit.
2. It was full 1080P (1920 x 1080 native resolution), which is rare in a sub 32" HDTV. Note: Higher resolution is important when viewing closeup and in the amount of information displayed when used as a monitor.
3. Added features such as the utility of being both a very capable HDTV or monitor or simultaneously both, with it's 'picture in picture' mode. I'm still amazed that I can read the small text within the 2" x 4" sub picture. Has plenty of connectivity for adding HT audio, BR/DVD as well as viewing media (movies) off a USB thumb drive.
4. Price. As you mentioned, good 23" monitors are pricey (lower volume production?). Street price of the UN22D5000 about $250.
5. It has far better viewing angles. Monitors use less expensive TF type panels, that have rather poor viewing angles.

I'm not a gamer however, I can tell you that the unit does have a 'game mode' and owner reviews, on the BestBuy site, give it a thumbs up for gaming.
