Here's the 2450SL phragms being installed in my 2447H's. This diaphram is aquaplas coated Ti. Not quite as good as Be, but a lot less expensive.

Agreed. For some reason, those pics reminded me of the internals of an automatic transmission. A very complicated piece of machinery. It's a shame all the cool looking stuff always get covered up and out of sight.
I will take some measurements. If I really get ambitious, I will compare all of the CD's I have including:
2430 (original Al for 4622HF), 2431 (Al), 2447 (Ti), 2450SL, 2447 with SL phragm. And I have the 2352, and 2380 horns.
I spent the last two days building/rebuilding my subs. With the help from gpmbc, I decided to replace the 2x2242's with EV-X180B's. I also put the TD18h+ in a 5 cu ft sealed enclosure. I had 2 MJ18's left around, so I put those in an IB manifold in the back of the room. Wow, the bass is now over the top. Not as "in your face" as before. It's just everywhere. So, crazy as it sounds, I have a tapped horn sub (DTS-10), huge ported sub (20 cu ft), sealed sub and an IB. Yikes.
Were you ever able to complete these measurements? I'm mostly interested in the 2447 compared to the 2450sl diaphragms.I will take some measurements. If I really get ambitious, I will compare all of the CD's I have including:
