This was originally posted by Phaseshift in a Bravo thread.

I though it deserved it's own thread.

It's $249, and comes with two DVI cables.
I must have missed it when I was at there booth at CEDIA. But sounds like what we want. I just wonde rhow much the "optional" remote control is.

Still a little more than my manual method, but a lot cheaper than other switchers out there.

Thanks for the crosspost - looks promising. Guess it'll take some testing to see how well this thing can drive a 10m DVI cable.

Looks like $30 for the remote:

But, I'm not sure what you do with the little metal box (throw it at the switcher)?

Having the ports on opposite sides of the box is going to be a bit ugly (and why are they marked out 1 and out 2).

I'm still hoping DVI switching receivers show up soon.

Sony has a ES receiver coming out in the next few months that will do DVI switching. It's in the 4.5K range though.

Saw and heard it at CEDIA.

I agree about the inputs, they should all be on the same side. This will be difficult to "hide" in the rack with cable going out both sides.

Just looked at that remote. What is that thing? Doesn't look like a IR remote.

Oh well, maybe the next switch will be more promising.

My guess is that this "remote" is connected to the switcher via an ethernet cable. On the PC Connection site, the bigger Gefen remote, for 4 DVI inputs, is listed as "EXT-RMT-4w/16' ethernet cable". No IR, it appears.

The rep for V Inc. was hinting at a reasonably priced DVI switcher in another thread - anyone heard anything new on that? Whoever comes out with one will kick some butt for a while.

As pointed out in the prior post sending you to the Gefen thread the 4 port will have a IR remote (not wired) and will be available near the end of this month. No one has used these new units yet.
