I'm looking to get a pair of front speakers. I have been looking at RT-55 and RT-55i. The i version have a:

"Reformulated Blue Composite Dynamic Balance Driver Cone, Improved Dynamic Balance Tri-Laminate Tweeter technology, with vapor deposited micro-layers of stainless steel and aluminum for clear, detailed highs and Anti-diffraction bezel and grille system minimizes grille-edge reflections for more open, spacious, lifelike imaging and is available in three natural wood finishes, each standard at no extra cost: Maple, Cherry and Black Oak"

Now my question is do these differences make a big difference in the tech? Is the difference worth the extra $180 that is being asked? Is wood color that important? Esthetically how do people feel about wood vs. black vs. techno silver mini stuff?

Thanks all

I can't say anything about the RT55 specifically, you should listen to them yourself. However, I have listened to the Polk RT1000P and RT1000i side by side and the i series is definitely better sounding. Noticibly better.

As for the wood vs. laminate, that is just up to your personal taste. Nice looking wood though.
