Hi, I see 26" and 27" LCD TVs coming out claiming 16:9 aspect ratio. On CRTs, 27" are 4:3 and 26" are 16:9.

Is 26" the correct shape for 16:9 Viewing whereby a 26" would be more natural and would get the picture size laidout correctly over a 27"?

Im looking at the new Westinghouse Digital model coming out which claims it has an HDTV tuner as well. Obviously product has not as far as I know arrived in stores so I'll wait to see what the picture quality looks like. But considering most CRTs that are 27" are 4:3 viewable this sort of concerned me.

26 inch 16:9 and 27 inch 16:9 LCDs are both 16:9. They both lay out content the same.

While the fact that 27 inch 4:3 CRTs exist is interesting, it is not relevant.

Just to expound on what the previous person said, TVs can, and are, made in any size and any aspect ratio and look fine. It just happens that certain size and aspect ratio combinations are more common than others.
