To prevent any possible amplifier issues, just use 14 AWG. The difference in cost is negligible.

In that case - get the biggest - 24 AWG

The larger-gauge cables can be very difficult to route, if it's not a simple straight run. For a 10' run, I can't see why you'd need to go larger than 28 AWG. For longer runs (25' or more), yes, a larger gauge would make sense, and probably would be necessary even.


Also, is there anything that actually powers itself off the HDMI connection? I didn't think it provided a power feed that could be used like USB's to let a device power off the bus like that...
