2nd subwoofer and SMS-1

Hello everyone, it has been a while since I participated on here but have a few questions. I have been wanting to uograde for a while and have been sure of the path. I think i am going to add a second rythmik FV15HP.
Currently I run a yamaha receiver and i use a Velodyne SMS-1. I know that i would be best off to uograde to a receiver with XT32 but dont want to spend the money for both at this time. I understand 5he SMS-1 eq's both sub together and not independently. Do you think I am still better ofg using the sms-1 for dual sub setup than not using it at all? This probably sounds reallu dumb to you more knowledgable people but I always am a bit paranoid that I am not getting the most out of what i have. Lastly, would you say this is the best guide to follow for integrating two subs? Thanks in advance.

As a former owner of a SMS-1, my advice would be: sell the SMS-1 and get a miniDSP 2x4 HD. With the miniDSP 2x4 HD you can have 4 independent subwoofers and won't need to upgrade your receiver as you can time align the subwoofers in the miniDSP, EQ them, then show the pair of FV15HPs as one mono subwoofer to your Yamaha receiver. That is the way I do with my three subwoofers, even having a Denon X6500H with Audyssey XT32 + SubEQ HT.
