Well i got the vega CS book shelf and center last month but i dont like the way they sound. What a waste of money. They are to dark for me.

I have about $500. to spend but i dont need a subwoofer. Just left right and center. Ill get the surrounds later, i have some decent surrounds for now.

Ide like to get some tower type floor speakers but some decent book shelf speakers would be fine as well.

My subs are good i just need better sounding mains and matching center.

H/K AVR500 is my receiver.

Why not buy used?

The Infinity Beta 50s and C360 center are a great sounding speaker set - so if you are anywhere close to Arizona (seller won't ship) these might go for a really great price.

I'm guessing not more than $500 for the trio - we'll see what happens in 23 hours.

I'm sure somebody who was planning to snipe these is cursing you.

HSU has a sale f or the front three, $505, sale will probably only go on for another week or two. They are fantastic speakers, I have a set.

That looks like what i have. They are a bit to warm for my ear.

I went back to a set of kenwood HT in a box set and they actualy sound better.

Aren't the Hsu's on the bright side with their horn tweeters? At least that's what someone told me. I've heard good things about that 3 pc. set and it's on my short list.

Shadyj says fantastic

BowerR64 says warm-kenwood HTIB better

Anyone else have these speakers??

I'm sure Bower does not have any, he said it only looks like what he has. They really aren't the kind of speakers you buy on accident at a garage sale or something. I would not describe them as warm. Maybe he is talking about some Klipsch speakers because they are prevalent and use the same style of tweeter. I have not heard of anyone describing Klipschs as warm though.

Perhaps he picked up some of these Klipsch Synergys, which look like the HSU's. They are a popular model of speaker, but they are a bit older model. The cabinet is different though, the Klipschs cabinets don't look as solid as the HSUs. Here are the Klipsch:

""Wow". Klipsch went to extraordinary lengths to ensure build quality"

"The exemplary build quality catapulted it to the top of the shoot out."

Granted that's a different Klipsch bookshelf, however I'd refrain from making such a baseless comments.

Klipsch has a large range of speakers. I was referring to the one in the picture, the SB 2, a model introduced in the late 90's. The one in your review is a higher end model. My statement is not baseless, compare the two and judge for yourself:

By the way, I am not saying the cabinet on the klipsch is at all bad, but, believe is or not, there are finer builds out there, for example, the RB-15, the one in your review.

I think im going to try the Jamo, i like the idea of a larger woofer in the front and i like the hight of them.

The jamo package with the center speaker, is it a good matching set? as far as the sound from center to L/R? All the speakers in both the main and the center look so different.

Usualy they all use the same drivers giving them very similar sounds from center to the mains. Least ive noticed it seems alot of them do it like this.

The set i have now sound very evenly matched just not very crisp.

On mine when the center is set on large speaker its ****** since its sealed. One thing i didnt like about it.

I'm no speaker expert, more of a noob really but I just bought 3 ERM-1's on sale for $149 and I think they sound great. They obviously aren't going to go as low as most towers but with a good sub (or 2) that's not much of an issue, they are very crisp and clean. I have them in a pretty small room (10x14) so I feel they are being stifled a bit but when I move them into a slightly larger more open space these things are going to sing.

I have a pair of those also!

They are each sitting on a pair of 8" woofers.

As in Emo 8.3s. They do make great sounding speakers - and the ERM-1s are the real deal. They can be driven with any good AVR. I tried out a 3 pack with my HK 247 for a few weeks but didn't like the idea of having to install a sub in my bedroom where I'd be using them. I sent them back and decided to keep my Infinity IL40 towers instead. No sub needed with those.

You are the one that pointed me in their direction initially.

I have 2 tSc 8" subs, one under each and it sounds amazing. I may still pick up a 12" eD sub when I move them into the larger room but there's a good chance I won't need to. I haven't really been able to push these at all yet given my living situation.
