30 Days Almost Up...What Would You Do?

2303 Views 60 Replies 20 Participants Last post by  Barrybud
My 30 days for return are almost up.

I have a 60" Sony SXRD. No "blue hue" or "blob" problems. Convergence is good.

I have a slight discoloration on grayscale that I can dial out 93% on B&W.

Otherwise I am happy and all looks good.

Is it worth trying another SXRD or I am I just asking for trouble? I am not trading this set for another brand. I am just trying to get a near "perfect" set. What would you SXRD owners do or have done?

BTW...I do have a 4 year extended warranty through Best Buy.

All opinions are welcomed.

Thanks so much!

If you are happy with the set, I would keep it. BB and CC have always stood by their EWs so if you did develop the blob problem later, I'm sure they would do right by you. I've used their EW twice - 1 product, they repaired and the other they replaced with an upgraded new product (mine wasn't made anymore).

If you are happy with it keep it. At least you don't have to worry about seeing rainbows.

You shouldn't have bought a TV that you might return!
People that return these TV's just because they can, is low rent. This practice is unfair all the way around.
What do you want to do? If you are happy with it keep it. If not, don't. You have to make that call yourself.

Anyway, since you asked....considering that you've stated over and over again in numerous threads how much you like your SXRD, and that it has no problems (?), then I would recommend that you keep it and enjoy it. :)
Thanks...

Every TV has SOME problem.

Just looking for advice, that's all.
Right now, it will be difficult to find a better HDTV. (Next year is a different story, but your 30 days will be long gone.) In principle, I agree with some of the other posts that one should not be purposefully buying sets every 30 days as try outs on a whim. It just drives up the prices for all of us. (I'm not talking about people who have problems and have ligitimate reasons for returning the set.)

I shave those, too!
I am bumping this for some REAL advice from owners whose sets are ALMOST perfect, but not quite. I could exchange for another...but "blobs"... etc. could prevail. Again, my set is NEAR perfect. Slight discoloration in B& W in a small area...that can be dialed out, but might affect grayscale. No problems in active color picture.

Serious response only!
maybe try some testostone...have a few stiff drinks............do something to grow some ........ and make a decision like a man.......and most importantly....stop the whinnin.
