Well after reading all the raves about the velodyne CHT systems I've decided to get a CHT Front Row system with a velodyne VRP 1000 sub, but I don't know what reciever to get.


I would like to spend around $300, I want an AV reciever so I can run all my components (cable, PS3, DVD etc) to the speakers, something with a pretty good amount of inputs and outputs etc. and just something that will do the speakers justice


I have no real clue about what makes a good reciever and I don't want to buy an awesome speaker system and end up with a reciever that ruins it all

Generally these boards recommend Onkyo 504 (can get it new, or refurbed for $160 at shoponkyo.com), Pioneer VSX816, or Panasonic XR55, or XR57 if you want HDMI. There are others to be sure....these are a couple suggestions.

Check out the JVC RXD411S or 412B for around 350. Upconversion to HDMI or component, auto speaker setup, USB to computer files.
