I have a built-in T.V. Cabinet which is exactly 38.25 inches wide. I am looking for a new T.V., but just can't stomach the thought of going with a CRT. Does anyone have any recommendations on a 32-34 inch Plasma or LCD (must be HDTV compatible....since I have a HDTV DTV Receiver). Since my maximum width is about 38 inches.....I suspect a 32-34 inch 16:9 will be as big as I could get....right?


Oh....and built in speakers is a must.

I don't think you should surrender at 34". If you have posted in the plasma forum ... I guess you might be interested in Plasma ... Belive me .. with your 38" space you can enjoy a TV upto 37" ..

You don't have many options with that WIDTH. My parents had the same deal, only they had 39" to work with. That extra 1" makes a difference.

JVC LT-32WX84 LCD 32 7/8" wide Not sire how speakers r mounted


That's about all of your options with "name brand" LCD/plasmas. Of course there might be a couple that I missed.

you should definitely be able to squeeze a 37'' LCD in there if you want to spend the extra $$ moving up from 32''.

I definitely want to move up to a 37 inch (bigger IS better ) However, where do you buy speakers to "mount on the bottom"?

Hitachi 32PD5200 exactly 830mm width without the detachable speakers.


I have mine in a unit with the speakers mounted directly behind the screen. Screwed to the back of the cabinet. I know its not the best solution for the sound but its only for broadcast viewing, DVDs get played through a Yamaha AX750SE amp and 7.1 surround system.
