Hey guys,


I have a 32" non HDTV WEGA. Recently i've been hearing a high pitch whine or noise coming from the TV. It's usually when there is a bright white image that moves on the screen, or when the scrolling news at the bottom of a channel like cnn or espn is on. I've tried a few different settings with picture mode, but haven't had any luck. this noise doesn't come out of the speakers, not sure where it comes from. I checked all the conenctions, they seem to be fine...the noise comes on even with the receiver off...


Is this some sort of electical feedback thing?

Sounds most like a faulty flyback in the tv, if possible can you replace the tv?

Sounds like the yoke is vibrating against the CRT. It will become louder with a brighter image. Unfortunately, it can be either difficult or impossible to repair unless the CRT is changed. If the CRT doesn't use a bonded yoke, a tech can likely change the yoke to eliminate the noise. If the CRT uses a bonded yoke, then it may have to be replaced.
