I was wondering,

how do i know what resoultion my 34XBR00 is producing. I mean when i watch TV it bumps the REZ from 480i to 960i correct? But how do i know that it is?

Also when i use 480p is it really 480p or is it bumping it up to 960i. Like when it receives 720p it bumps it to 1080i.

Is there a way can you tell what REZ the TV is?(without using a DVI computer hookup)

I'm not 100% sure, but I think the only way to tell is by entering the service mode. The initial service screen will have the current resolution at the bottom, I think. Someone out there ought to know more, though. Anyone?

To really tell for absolutely sure would require some complex equipment ... or access to information only Sony engineers have.

However, all evidence points to:

480p -> Displayed as 480p

480i -> Diplay dependent on DRC mode:

Cinemotion -> 480p

Progressive -> 480p

Interlaced -> 960i
