360 DVD Player Question

How well does the 360s DVD player upconvert to your HDTV?

I'm getting my 1st HDTV next week (Sharp 37d90u - 1080p set), and I keep hearing to get great quality from a standard def DVD, you need to have a player with good DVD upconverting. I've never heard of this before so looking for someone knowledgable in the area.

it actually does a pretty good job at it. be sure you have a vga cable as thats the only way to upconvert dvds on the 360

i would also recommend getting the hd dvd drive when it is available, alot better quality than upconverted dvds and would look nice on your set
Yeah I plan to get the HD player. I was just wondering how the standard player does to hold me over until the HD player comes out.

Thanks.
Seperate question. I don't know much at all yet about home theater, but what is the best way to hook the 360 up to the new TV? The only wires I have are the Red/Yellow/White wire, and the Red/Blue/Green wires. If neither of these is the best way, what is?
Nevermind. Just realized VGA.
