360 Elite in white
I want to upgrade to the Elite very badly, but will wait for it to return to 'white'.
Any word on a release date?

Just two waves of black Elites? Then why all the fuss of making all these extra accessories in black as well when it's just a temporary thing.
They shoud either always keep them black or should have never introduced the color to begin with. Idiotic.

I like the way my Black one looks better than my white...
i personally like the white version myself....
but i wont get an elite till they have the 65nm ones and hopefully at the same time put a new "quiet" dvdrom in there and make the thing really quiet. until then im going to stick with my 360 premium and be glad i got the extended warranty.

I've heard the Elite will always be in black, but eventually down the line they will be adding an HDMI port to all the new premiums. I think it was mentioned in one of Major Nelsons podcasts.
I thought that the Elite in black was a limited run, that they would go back to white after it's "limited" release, and that it's purpose was to replace the premium sku eventually. Is that not the case now?

My guess is they were trying to create a mad rush for it. "Limited" ... ooooooohh! Had I known they would go back to white (if that is in fact true) then I would have waited. Heck, had I known for a fact that the VGA would look as good as it does, I would have waited.

This article clearly states in the last sentence of the very first paragraph that the Elite will be a permanent SKU and not 'limited' in any way.

If you want a white one then get out the can of spray paint and make it white. That is the only way you will get a white one. I have heard nothing about them making a white one. I would love to hear where Major Nelson said they would.
Gamestop employees at it again. Why would they release all of the black peripherals if the black elite wasn't permanent?
The black Elite will be permanent but maybe they will start producing white Elites as well. Having the choice won't hurt anyone.
Wake me up when there's a real price drop, even if the cheaper SKU only comes in puce. Thank you.
