37LG30 power button issue, LG support

I bought myself a shiny new 37LG30 for xmas. I set it up, plugged it in, and it turned itself on. The mode select box came up (home vs. store), but the TV wouldn't accept any input (remote or side buttons). The blue power light flashed when I hit buttons on the remote, but nothing else registered. After a bunch of fiddling, I realized that the power button was essentially stuck. I *thought* I got it unstuck, and finished setting the TV up. However, twice now it has turned itself on without anybody even in the same room.


How is the power button supposed to feel when you press it? There's little give and no click to mine. I'm thinking I'm going to have to exchange this as DOA, but would love to avoid that if I could.


On a related note, has anybody actually talked to LG phone support? They claim to be open 24 hours. I waited on hold an hour on Saturday night (after they estimated my wait time at 4 minutes) before giving up. And this morning after going through the same phone tree I was connected to Home Depot Service Support. ??

It's supposed to make a very light click. If you can take it back to the store for a new one. LG support will take several weeks to fix it.

I was afraid of that. I bought it via Amazon, so it looks like it's time to call them. Thanks much for the info!
