Do either the 3803 or AVR8000 have issues with identifying the bitstream that and switching to the new mode, without loss of content???

I've read (I believe it was Krell) taht some receivers take several seconds to identify the surround encoded flag, and then switch appropriately...

My Onkyo 575x does so without delay..and as anal as it may sound...that would bug the bejeezes out of me...

Man, am I getting picky or what...

I know what your thinking...shut up and buy something already...:D

If you're watching TV with the receiver, any sort of interruption could get quite obnoxious, so I don't think you're being picky at all. My digital cable boxes output AC-3 on coax and fiber. I have one attached to my Denon 3801, and it switches from Dolby Prologic to Dolby Digital without any sort of interruption that I've detected thus far. This happens quite frequently on premium movie channels, as a lot of the movies have Prologic, but the newer ones have Dolby Digital.
