Ok, so here's what I want it to do first off...

I have a whole bunch of full 3D .iso's and want to be able to play them on my 3D TV without having to burn them and play them on my BD player. From what I've come to understand so far, the only way to really do this without having to convert the files and lose quality is through a 3D capable HTPC by mounting the .iso and then playing them with PowerDVD. So since this is the primary reason for my HTPC build, I'd like to ensure I'm going to able to accomplish this successfully without any issues before I start shelling out the cash for my build. I am also trying to be as budget conscious as possible without sacrificing capacity, so let me know what you guys think.

here's my shopping list:

1. Apevia Aspire X-QPACK2-NW-BK/500 Computer Case
http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applicatio...&Sku=A107-1099

2. Asus ENGT430/DI/1GD3(LP) GeForce GT 430 Video Card
http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applicatio...&Sku=A455-0430

3. Asus A78LT-M LE Motherboard - AMD 760G, Socket AM3, USB, PCIe, RAID, LAN, DDR3
http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applicatio...&Sku=A455-2930

*note: my current AV Receiver doesn't take sound by HDMI, so I need a board with a digital optical output

4. AMD Athlon II X3 455 ADX455WFGMBOX Processor
http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applicatio...1&Sku=A79-0455

5. Seagate ST3160316AS Barracuda 7200.12 Hard Drive - 160GB
http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applicatio...Sku=TSD-160AS8

*this would be for the hard drive. should i get something smaller?

6. Western Digital WD20EARS Caviar Green Hard Drive - 2TB, 3.5", SATA-3G
http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applicatio...u=TSD-2000EARS

7. LG WH12LS30K 12x Blu-Ray Burner
http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applicatio...L49-1063%20OEM

So that's what I'm looking at so far. I'd like to save some money if you guys find places I can do that (besides the case...I really like that one lol). However, the most important thing to me is making sure it will accomplish the way I need it to. I don't need any gaming, just internet streaming and most importantly the 3d blu-ray .iso playback.

Anxious to hear what you think!

Thanks in advance!

also...I'd like to have as much storage as possible since I use 3d iso's so if you think it's a good idea to use a 3tb drive instead of a 2tb one, let me know....I've heard bad things about 3tb drives, so I stuck to 2, but I'd love some more opinions. Thanks again everyone!

You forgot to buy memory, also cehck other sites for products, I know it's more convenient to buy everything from the same place but you can save money buying from different vendors. For example I saved 25 bucks buying a case from Amazon as opposed to newegg.

The list itself looks fine, where are the 2-2TB drives going...is it in the same case?

For a little more money you might be able to go with a Liamo cpu and from what I understand you will not need and external video card.

without the "tedious" task of mounting a movie every time you want to watch..
do you know if this works for 3d files though? i've tried other media players and have been able to play the 3d iso files, but they only play in 2d...i've tried a few different media players (thanks to the generous futureshop return policy) and none have worked. they all play the files in 2d only....

boxee for exmaple only plays them in 2d unfortunately..

PowerDVD and TMT are the only solutions for BD 3D.

none of the players listed will play 3d files, only powerdvd and TMT play them, they all play SBS 3d files but this is something completely different from having a 3d bluray iso
