I have a Pio 50" plasma and I am getting ready to remodel my master bedroom. I have about 38" wide of space in which to put the plasma. In order to maximize the screen I thought of buying a 4:3 plasma.

Any recommendations on what I should buy? Should I stay with the 4:3 idea or go with a 16:9 and just deal with the much smaller screen (the bed is about 15 feet away). If I go with the 4:3 what brand?

The only current 4x3 Plasma Model that I know of is the Hitachi CMP307XU.

But it's only a 37" Display (32"w x 26.9"h x 3.9'd).

Bigger for 4x3 sources but smaller with 1.85:1 and 2.35:1 materials compared to a 16x9 37" display.

This is what I have found so far Pioneer PDP-v401; Mitsubishi "Leonardo"; LG MU-40PA10; Zenith POV22 (all of which are 40") and a BenQ 42".

I have been out of touch with any developments since I did my initial research about 3 years ago, and I really don't know anything about several of the above manufacturers.

I am also wondering whether most DVD's have the option of a 4:3 format when they are played.

Thanks!!
