4/5K networking using Home PNA 2.0?

Hi folks;

Long time no post here. As I couldn't seem to locate anything in the forum search on the topic of using Home PNA networking for hooking up multiple 4/5K units for mutual program streaming, IVS, as well as broadband access for the nightly EPG downloads and any SW upgrades, I was curious as to whether or not anyone here is using such a method for there Home networking and/or knows about it's performance with the 4/5K PVRs. RTV customer service says it will work just fine, however I know it's not always the wisest to go on what a sevice rep. may say.

Not that I plan to do anything prior to the April 15th auction though. But if everything comes out OK with RTV maintaining their service under new ownership, this is the chosen method I am using for my Home network as I didn't want to be bothered with stringing ethernet cable throughout the house. Unfortunately I realize however that I will have to pay additional money for a ethernet to Home PNA bridge for each of the PVRs to access the network. That is unless someone else here knows of a cheaper alternative than purchasing a separate bridge for each PVR as the last one I checked by Linksys wanted $149.00 ea. for them :( .

Thanks for any input.

The PNA bridge works for Broadband guide updates. However, the jury is still out on the subject of streaming between units with this setup.
At some point, I think it's wise to balance the cost of workarounds (like HomePNA or wireless) with the cost of just paying someone to run a length or two of CAT5 in your home. Assuming you're not renting, of course.

I'm running a Linksys Home PNA 2.0 system with two PCs sharing a cable modem. I'm confused as to what specific piece of Linksys hardware I would need to make this work with a 5000 series RTV. After some searching here, I know the USB port is non-functioning (for now) so the USB-to-phoneline adaptors (USB200HA) I use for the PCs wouldn't work. Which PNA bridge do I need to get?
