4 ohm Monoprice Monolith fronts with Denon 4520?

My aging Denon is I believe specced for 6-8ohm speakers. I was thinking of upgrading my fronts, starting with the center for now, with the Monoprice Monolith THX-365 series. This is for a 7.1 setup with 18" DIY sub. I don't think this Denon model supports Atmos but that is in the cards next year maybe.

Would the 4 ohm center, and ultimately 4 ohm L-R, be expected to cause problems with my AVR? I tend to start movies at -12 to see how loud they are and then end up anywhere between there and 0.

No.

The trend for many manufacturers is a 4-ohm load in an attempt to keep up with the Joneses in sensitivity. So, 4 ohms is not unusual.
I’m no audio engineer, so take what I say with a block of salt, but here are the facts:

-I believe either the AVS review or the audioholic‘s review on the 365s show them getting pretty low in resistance.
-You seem to run your system pretty loud if you’re approaching near 0/reference db.
-You’re already running 7 channels, and looking to potentially add more for atmos.

With that pointed out, I’m not saying you’re gonna have a problem or not.….I have no clue (again, I’m no audio engineer/etc)

But, I will say that you could always try them, and worst comes to worst prolly find a 3 channel amp for the front soundstage :)

Page 96 of the Denon 4520 manual shows 4 ohms as acceptable, with the switch at "6 ohms."

It's a pretty beefy unit (meaning power supply), I wouldn't worry about it.

Thanks everyone!
Make sure to report back with your results/outcome.
No problem at all with the center, and sounds fantastic. I'll probably get the L-R sooner than later.
