The available 42" HD Plasmas are pretty limited right now. What I want is a Plasma TV that has DVI input, is HDCP compatible, has a tuner and PNP capabilities, a table stand, and speakers. From what I can tell by researching them my options include only a few:

Fujitsu P42HHA10ES which would cost around $6000 (without optional speakers)

Pioneer 433CMX with Aurora TVP1000+ for about $5300 (without optional speakers)

Panasonic 42PHD6UY with stand, DVI & PC input cards (without optional speakers) about $5300

Of course the Panasonic TH-42PX20U and Pioneer 434CMX are due out this year, but no one seems to know when they'll be available and how much they will cost. I don't know what advantages, if any, they'd have over these models.

I'm interested in hearing opinions as to which of these choices you think are best, and why...

Thanks in advance,

Thanks, but I really prefer the resolution of the HD screens, especially since I plan to use them to display .jpg files from the computer.

Even though I've been waffling between 42 and 50, I'm in a similar situation, which means (as of today):

1. Fuji P50 ... best price so far a little over $8K (B&M)

2. Panny 50phd6uy ... somwhere around mid $6K range

3. Pio 503+a303 ... about $6K

Leaning toward #2 since the panny should be available in a few weeks/early oct and it has all the expansion capabilities you need with it's new slot (as compared to the 5uy series). Unfortunately the 504 is MIA from any real estimates (some say December and I can't wait that long) and the Fuji may not be worth the extra $ over the new panny (although this is a guess w/o seeing the new panny)

I'd say go with the panny since:

1. It is brand new technology

2. The price is good

3. PQ is likely to be at least as good or better than the 5uy and that panel was/is very successful

P.S. You probably can't go wrong with the Fuji panel either, but IMO getting a 433 at this point would really only make sense if you can get it really cheap.

One concern with the FUJI is that I read somewhere here that Fuji will not cover them under warranty if they're purchased over the internet (from a non-Fuji dealer, I assume).
